Fees

Our SIBT program fees include free tuition and academic skills seminars, as well as student support, counselling, academic assistance and exclusive discounts and promotions.

If you are an international student hoping to study at SIBT, the following fees apply. International students are also required to obtain Overseas Health Cover.

Note: Students pay tuition fees per unit as they progress through their study. To secure a place at SIBT, students must pay the tuition fees for the first four units of study before their program begins. If a student is only completing three units in the first session, the fourth unit’s fees will remain as a credit on their account. Fees are correct as at the time of printing. SIBT reserves the right to vary its fees at any time.

Overseas Health Cover (OSHC)

International students also need to obtain Overseas Health Cover for the duration of their studies in advance of arriving in Australia. Students can expect to pay approximately A$594 per year of study (2017).

Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, humanitarian visa holders and New Zealand citizens are classified as domestic students for SIBT program fee purposes.

Note: Only Australian citizens and permanent humanitarian visa holders can access the FEE-HELP loan scheme. EFTSL value

Your Effective Full Time Student Load (EFTSL) value for each session is:

  • Each unit of study in an SIBT Diploma is equal to 0.125 EFTSL
  • Full Time Diploma Program at SIBT, with 8 units equals 1 EFTSL
  • Full Time Standard Foundation Program at SIBT, with 8 units equals 1 EFTSL
  • Full Time Extended Foundation Program at SIBT, with 12 units equals 1.5 EFTSL

Financial help

Financial help, such as Youth Allowance, Austudy and Abstudy, may be available for domestic students while they study. For more information visit www.centrelink.gov.au

Payment options

In order to accept your offer at SIBT, it is necessary to pay the fees and charges due as indicated in the Letter of Offer. This will include course fees plus the Overseas Student Health Cover charge (if applicable). Student must sign and return Acceptance Form along with payment or a completed FEE-HELP form.

Students who may be eligible for FEE-HELP:

  • Australian Citizens or;
  • New Zealand Special Category Visa holder who meets the long term residency requirement or;
  • Permanent Humanitarian Visa Holders

Students have a number of options when it comes to paying your SIBT tuition fees.

Refunds

If you require a refund of your fees, you will need to notify us in writing as soon as possible. You will need to provide your Confirmation of Enrolment, along with the mailing address of where you would like your refund to go. 

Your refund will depend on your refund reason, and how you quickly you notify us in writing about your refund request.

Payment Options

Please ensure that all fees are paid in Australian dollars and that you include your Student ID as a reference on all payments. Depending on the method of payment additional banking charges may apply.
