Australian applicants

All Australian citizens, permanent residents and holders of permanent humanitarian visas are required to apply for admission through SIBT directly or the University Admissions Centre (UAC) for Session 1. Year 11 school leavers can apply for our Foundation program directly through the SIBT online application form.

For Session 2 and 3, they can directly apply online.

Applying through UAC

Online UAC applications open in August for students intending to start their university studies the following year. For the first semester at SIBT, which starts in March, eligible students should apply through UAC. To select SIBT as your preference, simply input the relevant UAC code (as provided under the section SIBT UAC codes) on your UAC application. FEE-HELP is also available for eligible students.

You can apply through UAC if you are:

  • an Australian citizen
  • an Australian permanent resident
  • a New Zealand citizen
  • a temporary resident currently studying an Australian Year 12* or International Baccalaureate in Australia or New Zealand.

*For example: HSC, VCE, VCAL, NTCE, QLD Senior Certificate, SACE, TCE, WACE. Contact UAC directly for more information about the application process.

How to apply - international applicants

An international applicant is one who does not hold citizenship of Australia or New Zealand, Australian or New Zealand permanent resident status or a permanent visa. The language of instruction at SIBT is English.  International students must demonstrate a suitable level of English proficiency before being admitted to a program.

All international applicants:

  • must complete the SIBT Application form for international students;
  • must provide true and certified copies of documents detailing the most recent academic qualifications and results;
  • will be assessed against Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) criteria to determine if they are a genuine student.

Applying directly to SIBT

SIBT offers 3 semester intakes each year: March, July and October.

You can apply directly to SIBT if:

  • You are not currently studying a standard Australian year 12 school curriculum
  • You intend to submit an application to SIBT only
  • The UAC rounds have closed for the February intake

If you are a year 11 student, you would need to apply for SIBT’s Foundation program before completing a diploma program.

July and October intakes

All students can apply directly to SIBT for these intakes.
