At SIBT, we are committed to providing a safe, supportive and caring learning and working environment that is free from both harassment and assault. Our Safe Campus Community Committee works with students and staff to build awareness about the importance of a safe campus and works to ensure this.
Sexual assault, harassment and violence can affect anyone in the community, regardless of gender, sexual identity, race, age, culture, ethnicity, religion, disability, economic status or location.

The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Policy and Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response Policy contains information about what is considered sexual assault and harassment, and identifies responsibilities for managers, supervisors, staff and students.
Sexual harassment is any unwelcome behaviour of a sexual nature that makes a person feel offended, humiliated or intimidated, and which a reasonable person, having regard to all the circumstances, would have anticipated the possibility that the person would be offended, humiliated or intimidated.
Sexual harassment can take many forms and occur between men and women; women and other women; and men and other men.
Sexual assault occurs when a person is forced, coerced, or tricked into sexual acts against their will or without their consent, or if a child or young person under 18 is exposed to sexual activities.
Sexual assault is a crime and is never the victim's fault.
Sexual assault can happen to anyone in our community regardless of age, sexuality, gender, socio-economic status, cultural background or relationship status.
We consider sexual assault a serious crime.

The SIBT Sexual Offences Reporting Form was created for reporting any sexual offence, meaning a sexual activity that was unwanted, not consented to or that made a person feel uncomfortable. The portal securely captures all reports for investigation by the response team. The form accepts anonymous*, witnesses and bystander reports.
The form is not intended to replace emergency services. If this is an emergency, we encourage you to call 000 to contact the NSW Police and seek assistance from the nearest hospital. You can also access medical attention from your local GP.
