Whilst studying in Australia students MUST abide by visa conditions as determined by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

These include:

• Complete your course within the time specified on your COE.
• Satisfy course requirements - must attend a minimum of 80% of all scheduled classes and achieve satisfactory course progress.
• Have sufficient funds to cover course fees and living expenses while in Australia.
• Students who wish to change education provider before completing the first 6 months of their principal course must obtain a release letter from their orginal registered provider. If the visa package includes both SIBT and Macquarie University, the principal course is the Macquarie University degree.
• Students must inform DIAC if they change their student status or withdraw from the course they are enrolled in.
• Students must extend their student visa before it expires.
• Students are required to advise SIBT of changes to their Australian address, within 7 days.

Overseas Student Health Cover

It is a visa condition that all overseas students maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) while in Australia. If you have an accident or health problem you will be able to redeem some, or all of your medical costs.

SIBT will organise one policy for the duration of your studies at SIBT and English studies at Macquarie University (if you are studying English at NCELTR). This will be through OSHC Worldcare. Costs are outlined in your letter of offer. You will need to renew your health cover when you commence your studies at Macquarie University.
